Make Some Noise (Toronto Hip-Hop Documentary) - 1994
Make Some Noise (1994) from Corbin Smith on Vimeo.
The 1994 film follows then up-and-coming Toronto rap groups like Ghetto Concept, Nu Black Nation and MVP, creating what now stands as a wonderful time-capsule peek into Toronto's 90's hip hop community. The film also features interviews with some of the big players in Toronto's rap scene like Johnbronski, DJX, a pre-Canadian Idol Farley Flex and a whole bunch more.
Despite being a big success at the 1994 Toronto International Film Festival (the film was awarded Best Canadian Short), Make Some Noise never received major distribution and until now, remained buried in Canadian rap history. With Kardinal Offishall's Toronto Anthem blowing up Canadian urban radio, the recent 'happenings' over at CKLN (the campus radio station is prominently featured in the film) and it being Black history month, this is a great time to blow the dust off this Toronto hip hop classic." - Press Release

Directed by Antoine Fuqua(“Training Day,” “Brooklyn’s Finest”), the film will be shot on location in Los Angeles, New York, Georgia and Las Vegas and is currently being cast.
The film chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakuraka 2pac, including his rise to superstardom as a hip hop artist and actor, as well as his imprisonment and prolific, controversial time at Death Row Records, where he was steeped in the East coast/West coast rap war.
In her support of the upcoming biopic of her late son, Afeni Shakur-Davis said, “I am confident that Morgan Creek will stay true to the common goal we share of depictingTupac’s life in a way that will allow the world to see the authenticity of his artistry, his hopes, and his life goals.“
“TUPAC” will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson and LT Hutton, and executive produced by Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. The screenplay was written by Steve Bagatourian, Stephen J. Rivele & Christopher Wilkinson. Universal Pictures distributes in North America and co-distributes with Morgan Creek International overseas.
